Hello and welcome to the Boone County Fire Protection District #2 website.
We are soon to be looking for our next Fire Chief. Once applications are available ,a link will be posted here.


Engine 341 is used for heavy rescues and goes to vehicle accidents, medical calls and fires. This engine holds 850 gallons of water and is housed at our Belvidere station.

Engine 301 is used for Structure Fires and has a full Air Cascade system on it. This engine holds 3000 gallons of water and is housed at our Belvidere station.

357 is a Ladder Truck and goes to structure fires, high angle rescues and vehicle accidents. This truck has a 109 foot ladder and holds 500 gallons of water and 60 gallons of foam. This vehicle is housed at the Belvidere station.

371 is our Tender and holds 4,000 gallons of water to help with fires that water is not easily accessible. 371 can also be used as an engine. This vehicle is housed at the Belvidere station.

Brush truck 360 responds to all vegetation fires and can get into most places that the big trucks can't go. This vehicle is house at the Belvidere station.

Light Rescue 342 is used for Medical calls, Fire inspections, and helps pull department trailers. This vehicle is housed at the Belvidere station.

This is one of our Chief's Buggy. Deputy Chief Dennis Dovenmuehle drives this to calls.

343 is a rescue truck that was won thru a FEMA grant and is used for pulling department trailers and goes to all water rescue calls. This vehicle is housed at the Belvidere station.

372 is our 1989 Tender and holds 3,000 gallons of water to help with fires that water is not easily accessible and is housed at the Belvidere station.

This interesting looking vehicle is called MVU ( Mobile Ventilation Unit) This unit is housed at our Belvidere station and is Owned by MABAS. This unit has a 100 hp fan motor on elevating, rotating, and tilting stalk. Used for hi-rise ventilation, confined space ventilation, mass decontamination/cooling (with an attachment for hose), toxic gas dissolution, etc https://www.mabas-il.org/about/

Engine 302 is used for heavy rescues and goes to vehicle accidents, medical calls and fires. This engine holds 1000 gallons of water and is housed at our Garden Prairie station.















Who we are today
Today Boone County Fire District #2 is under the leadership of a Chief, and three Deputy Chiefs, one Captain, two Lieutenants and thirty-five firefighters. With locations in Belvidere, Illinois and Garden Prairie, Illinois our volunteer department is able to best serve the community’s needs.
